3. Installing a license

3.1. New license

When purchasing a new license, you will get a message with a product key.

Hint

If the license needs to be installed on a machine without any TOPOFLIGHT applications, please install the Sentinel RTE first before proceeding with the steps below.

Installing a new license:

1. Go to our customer login and enter the product key.

2. Enter your contact details (not always needed).

3. Select Offline activation.

4. Generate C2V file (fingerprint) on the machine where you intend to install the license:

   • Download and execute the Sentinel HASP RUS .

   • Click collect information.

5. Activate the license:

   • Upload the generated *.C2V file .

   • Click Generate and download the *.V2C file.

   • Apply the *.V2C file either through the RUS tool or the localhost.

6. Validate the license activation:

   • Go to Sentinel Admin Control Center.

   • Confirm that the Key ID (same number as *.V2C file) is included in the list.

   • You can inspect more details on the products and features of this key by clicking on the corresponding buttons in the column Actions.

3.2. License update

Local licenses can be updated directly in TOPOFLIGHT MISSIONPLANNER and NAVIGATOR. All other licenses require a *.V2C file update.

3.2.1. Direct update

Direct license update in TOPOFLIGHT MISSIONPLANNER:

1. Click Settings and select License.

2. Click Check for license updates.

   

Important

Checking for updates is always possible. However, actually updating the license this way is only possible for local licenses.

Direct license update in TOPOFLIGHT NAVIGATOR:

1. Click on the bar symbol and select Licensing.

2. Click Check for license updates.

3.2.2. *.V2C file update

General *.V2C file update:

1. Optain a *.V2C file containing the updated license from your vendor.

2. Use the machine on which the license was installed.

3. Navigate to localhost.

4. In the navigation bar on the left select Update/Attach.

5. Select the new *.V2C file with the updated license and click on Apply File.

*.V2C file update for local licenses:

1. Optain a *.V2C file containing the updated license from your vendor.

2. Use the machine on which the local license was installed.

3. In MISSIONPLANNER, click Settings and select License. In NAVIGATOR, click on the bar symbol and select Licensing.

4. Click Import update (.V2C), select your *.V2C file in the file explorer and click Open.

3.3. Trial license

Activating a trial license:

1. Use the machine on which the TOPOFLIGHT software is installed.

2. Navigate to localhost.

3. In the navigation bar on the left select Update/Attach.

4. Select the *.V2C file with the trial license and click on Apply File.
