5. Flying in simulation mode

An important feature of TOPOFLIGHT NAVIGATOR is that you can use the software to fly in simulation mode. This mode is important in order to get to know the software and be able to test connected devices in the laboratory. This feature significantly reduces learning and flying expenses.

Important

When the flight is performed for real the software must not be in simulation mode!

Activating the simulation mode:

1. In the main menu select the submenu GPS.

   

2. Set the switch to simulation mode.

   

3. Go back to the NAVIGATOR program by selecting the submenu Back to flying.

4. After having selected a flight line you can simulate flying by using the arrow and function keys of your keyboard.

Keyboard controls for flight simulation:

F1	increase speed
F2	reduce speed
F3	set speed to 350kn
F4	set speed to 20kn
left arrow	turn left
right arrow	turn right
down arrow	reduce altitude
up arrow	increase altitude

Hint

To pause a simulated flight, simply use F2 to reduce the speed to the lowest value.
